The first order of business after checking in at the Hyatt was to work on the tan. Here is Michele holding Justin. I'm surprised he tolerated those shades as well as he did.

Brandon sunbathed for about three seconds before he decided he'd better cool off in the pool. When wearing his vest, he can swim all around without any help. He loves the pool!

Time to wash all that sunblock off and get cleaned up for dinner. Brandon and Justin enjoy their bath.

Now that they're all clean, it's time to get some clothes on these boys!

Brandon actually took this photo! He is getting to be quite good, isn't he? Here we are at the Almond Tree having dinner. Many of the waterfront restaraunts have boardwalks leading to additional tables right on the water.

Here is our rental car, a Kia Pregio van. I think the only option this thing had was air conditioning --and thank goodness it had that. We had the air on full blast at all times. There were no power windows or locks. There wasn't even a tachometer --it had a guage with no needle. I shouldn't complain because it was very reliable and served us well exploring the island.

We spent some time exploring the North side of the island. As you can see, the coast is mostly rocky in this area.

Here we are at the Turtle Farm, one of the most popular tourist attractions on the island. Much of the facility was damaged during a storm last November, but the touch tank was still open. Here Brandon is holding a baby green sea turtle.

Brandon and I are posing with the pirate in front of the Tortuga Rum Cake company. Mmmmm....Rum Cake....
![]() |
Brandon is debating on whether or not to venture into the Pirate Caves. We all went in and had the wits scared out of us when a cat came rushing out of the darkness toward us.

Here we are at the East End Blowholes. It's hard to time the picture just right and get the blowholes in action, but they are very impressive in person. This is about as close as we could get without getting wet.

Across the street from the blowholes is a chilled coconut stand. They cut the top off and poke a hole in it so you can drink the milk. Afterwards, they cut it into pieces so you can eat the coconut meat inside. Delicious!

We went to the lighthouse for dinner on our last night on the island. It is located right on the ocean and the dining room is a screened in porch just above the waves. The view is breathtaking and the food is even better! I had a mixed grill with Wahoo, lobster, shrimp, and scallops. Man that was good. My mouth is watering just writing about it.

We had a very relaxing dinner as we watched the sun go down on our last day in the Caymans. We had a great time and you can bet we'll be back next year for the Cayman Caravan - 2003!
